Bf says its wierd that I am all of a sudden getting into "Girly" thing.?

Ok I am a tom boy type of girl. Like cars, hunting, fishing, 4-wheelers getting dirty type things. I love it in fact just got into Archery. But a friend of mine is getting married in May 08. She asked me to be a bridesmaid. I am so excited about it. I have never been asked to be involved in something like this other than my own which by the way was a huge crock. And never got to go to Prom, so I am really getting into the wedding thing and my boyfriend thinks that it is weird & that I am being fake its not that at all, I do wear make-up almost daily. I like to get "dressed up" but never really had the chance to other than for work and I don't consider that getting dressed up. I have always been kind of down on the whole fancy girl thing but I think more because I am/was jealous. How do I get him to understand that I wasn't being fake just never really talked to him about it? I just don't see how that could be brought up in a conversation. Hey by the way I do like to get dolled up.
