Do I have pneumonia in addition to my bronchitis?

I have been sick for about three weeks now. It was real mild at first but got really severe over the holiday weekend. I wasn't able to see the doctor until earlier today. She diagnosed me with bronchitis. After she told me it could turn into pneumonia, I researched the differences online. I really think I have walking pneumonia, the milder form. I have had chills, a fever of 100.9 for a few hours, and especially shortness of breath when I walk. My chest feels very heavy but not too painful... just rather uncomfortable when I breathe in. Should I go back and ask for chest x-rays or trust the doctor?
