Is this paragraph grammatically correct? What would you change?
The United States government is split into three branches. These branches are the legislative, executive, and judicial branches. The legislative branch is composed of two houses, the House of Representatives and the Senate. Representation in the House of Representatives is based on the population of the state. The Senate, however, has two representatives from each state. Together, the two houses create and p laws. The executive branch makes sure the laws are carried out. The President and the Cabinet are a part of the executive branch. Finally, the judicial branch enforces the laws. A part of the judicial branch is the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court is the highest federal court in the United States. The nine justices on the Supreme Court work together to settle disputes regarding the laws of the country. A system of checks and balances makes sure one branch does not have more power than another. For instance, although the legislative branch has the power to create laws, the Supreme Court can declare them unconstitutional. The President can veto laws. However, with enough votes from both houses, Congress can override the veto. The doent visualizes this system, as it lists the powers of each branch in relation to each other.
