I need to know if a boy at school likes me or not?

Okay so a few months ago my friend said he really likes me because he'd always smile at me etc. But now in gym we are going to start swing dancing soon and it's boy girl partners so a kid sitting next to me said i know who wants to ask you but is scarde to and i said who and he said my crushes name so later that day my crushes other friend cam up to me and asked if i wanted to be my crushes swing dance partner and i said i don't know so he's like well i need to tell him the answer so yes or no and i said yes. Then today my friend came up to me and said your crush does not want to be your partner and then at recess my friends went up to him and asked if he wanted to be my partner and first he said sure and then they asked again and he said yes and then my friend said he said he does not want to and then at the end of recess he came and said he'll be my partner but i wanna know if he likes me because i don't want him to be my partner because he feels bad for me.
