Living room furniture?

Rather than lining the wall with furniture and leaving a big hole in the center, "float" the furniture in front of the fireplace. Although a small, sleek sectional will work, I think a small sofa and a chair and ottoman. Also choose a large square or rectangular ottoman as a tail table that can double as extra seating if necessary. When I say small, I refer to the overall visual size of the pieces. The overstuffed plumped up pieces would not work and not only take up too much physical room, the visual would be overwhelming and over sized for the room.
